We connect trans and gender diverse refugee and migrant newcomers in Calgary with free, confidential health navigation led by trans people who have that lived experience.
A Community Health Navigator someone who has walked this path themselves will help you find a doctor, access gender-affirming care, understand your coverage, and get through every step of the system.
Facilitated peer groups, one-on-one mentorship, and community events where trans newcomers can find each other. Belonging is part of health too.
We document every barrier our participants run into and publish that evidence. Your experience will shape what comes next for every trans newcomer who arrives after you.

Almees was incorporated in January 2026. Every director on the board has lived experience of forced displacement as a queer or trans person. This is not a charity built for the community, it is a community that built itself a charity.
